I grew up playing soccer and living an active lifestyle, and for much of my early life, fitness came naturally to me. As the years went on, I stepped away from sports and fell into unhealthy habits. Social partying, poor nutrition, and a lack of structure led to significant weight gain, and I eventually found myself overweight and unhappy with my health.
Not knowing where to begin, I took my first steps into the gym with very little guidance or confidence. I trained late at night — often between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.— because I was afraid of being judged. I was introverted, uncomfortable, and overwhelmed, but deeply determined to change my life.
In my desire to lose weight quickly, I made mistakes along the way. I restricted my food too aggressively, and while I did reach my weight-loss goal after a year, it came at the cost of my relationship with food. That experience taught me an invaluable lesson about balance, sustainability, and health beyond the scale.
From there, my mission shifted. I focused on rebuilding my body the right way—learning how to fuel myself properly, train intelligently, and prioritize long-term health. Over the following year, I gained significant muscle and transformed not just my physique, but my mindset.
My journey is the reason why I became a personal trainer. I understand what it’s like to feel lost, intimidated, and frustrated — and I also know that transformation doesn’t require perfection, extreme restriction, or endless years of struggle. Just because my journey took two years doesn’t mean yours has to.
